A gift of art with a colourful geometric pattern taken from a printed textile produced by the Wiener Werkstätte. The Wiener Werkstätte or Vienna Workshops was a cooperative of artists founded in 1903 by Josef Hoffman. The association brought together practitioners in the fine arts and applied arts under the philosophy of Gesamtkunstwerk. Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art) advocated a holistic approach to art. It sought to establish a commonality of concept in all forms of art.

One of the better known artists in the Wiener Werkstätte was the Austrian Gustav Klimt (1862–1918). Klimt is considered the leader of the Viennese chapter of the Sezession movement. The Sezessionists were artists who revolted against the prevailing academism of the late 19th-century. The Wiener Werkstätte embraced the ideas of the English Art Nouveau style that had taken root in the early twentieth century. This may be the ideal gift for someone who likes to go their own way.
